How do I Stop .Net remoting service gracefully. If someone stops the service, .Net remoting should not accept any new connections from the client AND wait for current connections to complete(saving to a database) and then stop the service

Mike, thanks for writing this as well as providing an excellent code reference implementation. I've ported your implementation to ruby. If you're interested in a copy, email me and I'll send it to you.

Thanks for the clarification. Apparently (at least in 2.0) it's still buggy. You can send messages to a remote MSMQ, but not read from one. It's very disappointing.

If our Senators and Representatives spent as much time working on what they are there for things would be much better. I am sick of each party spending so much time on trying to find things to condemn the other. We need to find a way to put a stop to this. They are too preoccupied with looking for something scandalous on each other. So much wasted effort and time--which ends up costing us, the taxpayers. The other thing that needs to stop is the special interest nonsense that goes on in DC. They undermine any good that could be done. It should be illegal to add things to bills that have no relationship what so ever to the original bills.

Right on!!! Seems to me like we need to clean house of ALL the Senators and Reprsentatives. Why are they trying to give amnesty to the illegals (definition of illegals-those who have broken the law) who gave up any right to anything when they broke the law. It is scary to hear about revolution in our country and I pray it does not come to that because it will be a sad scenario for precious country.

Hi all,

I have written a 5, 6 and 7 card evaluator in PHP (a language certainly not known for it's speed). It is the simplest evaluator I have ever seen and is made up of about 10 lines of very basic code. It takes 16 microseconds (not milliseconds) to score a 7 card hand.

I have used it in my online Texas Hold'em probability calculator which can be seen at http://texas.holdem.poker.probability.cal.culator.org/

My guess is in C++ this evaluator would beat any other for speed, but I don't know C++.

I'd love to get in touch with anyone interested in the code or interested in porting it to a CLI in C++.

Anyone interested can email me at http://bokehman.com/email

Ron, what I did was created a Java Bot that loaded a C++ dll. The C++ then interoped into .NET. Quite a pain to do but it worked. On occasion Poker Academy would spit out an error on loading the bot but never had an error during running.

Here is the Java code <a href="http://thebensons.org/BlogImages/PAJava.rar">PAJava.rar</a> that loaded my C++ interop dll. All my bots were written in C# so they were loaded by my C++ dll. My bots maintained their own table state etc... that allowed me to play the game with less than perfect information. So all my Java bot had to do was pass the information off to C++.
