Entity Framework - is it going to work?

January 21st, 2008

I played with object spaces way back when and thought it was a great idea.  Then it died.  I started playing with Linq to SQL, and although it did not die it so missed the mark I think it will die.  I started playing with entity framework (EF) in beta 2 and now in beta 3.  So, is it going to work? not how it sits now.

Time for the aluminum foil beanie

November 6th, 2007

I try really hard not to be one the many conspiracy nuts. However, it seems harder and harder to resist the pull.  Every day I find new evidence that things just are not balanced.  Today, it was in the form of Ron Paul.  For those of you who do not know, today was the day of the Ron Paul money bomb.

Brazilian Jiu Jitsu

October 31st, 2007

If you have not looked into this Martial Art, you should.  Over the years, I have studied Karate, Judo, Aikido, Shorin-Ryu.  Mostly I studied these arts because I was fascinated with the self-control aspect of Martial Arts.  But I also wanted to be able to effectively defend myself.

Whats the deal with our government

September 6th, 2007

Okay, this is really beginning to bug me.  I used to not really care about politics but as I have er… matured I find I want to more about what uncle sam is doing with my tax money.  How my representatives are representing me and what our government is doing. Read the rest of this entry »

Is object oriented progamming a sham?

August 24th, 2007

So I have been doing quite a bit of research lately on application architecture and keep wondering this.  I know that some would consider even mentioning this thought sacreligious.  When I look at highly scalable reference architectures none of them are fully object oriented and many of them dont even pretend to be object oriented.

Been real busy

August 24th, 2007

It’s been quite some time since I posted.  Life has been real busy of late.  I guess thats a good thing but sometimes it gets a bit tiresome.  Right now I am sitting back watching History of the World Part I, one of my favorite older movies.Â

RemotingConfiguration.Unconfigure() ???

June 6th, 2007

I was playing around with an old poker server that I had written and decided to make some changes. The way the client/server works is that client scrapes the screen and turns the current screen state into a message. This message is then dispatched to the server using MSMQ and the response to the message is the action to be taken by the client (do nothing, click a button, sit out, close the window etc…).

The Fourth Amendment

June 4th, 2007

The fourth amendment is very important to us all. It says that the government cannot arbitrarily search you or you home. The government must conduct reasonable searches and they must have a reason to search in the first place (probable cause).

The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.

Just a bunch of Hicks

May 9th, 2007

Well, my boy has done it again. In under fifteen minutes, George Bush managed to make us look like idiots to another head of state. This time his mistake was saying the queen was there for our bicentennial in 1776. Well, these things happen just move on like it did not occur and apologize to the queen in private right?

No, George Bush winked at the Queen. Winked at the Queen of England? What was this guy thinking, does he have any brains at all? But hey, at least he did not give her a back rub right.
